One of California’s most celebrated winemakers, Harvey first came to the attention of wine lovers and wine trade with the wines he produced from some of California’s oldest vineyards at Santino and Renwood. These old vine wines produced by Harvey helped put the Sierra Foothills on the Winemaking map. Harvey later made wine and partnered with Dr. Richard Peterson at Folie a Deux in Napa Valley before starting his own line of wines including Scott Harvey Wines, Jana and InZinerator. Founded in 1997, Astrale e Terra produces small lots of Cabernet-based wines from its estate vineyards located at a 1,500 foot elevation in the Atlas Peak appellation overlooking Napa Valley. Its ARCTURUS Cabernet blend is one of the wines that have helped create a stellar reputation for Atlas Peak-grown Cabernet Sauvignon. “We feel like we have one of California’s great winemakers at the helm with Scott on board,” said Astrale e Terra’s partner Lorrie Vanoli. “With our stunning vineyards at the top of the mountain and now Scott to help produce wine from our grapes, we feel we have the combination in place to produce wines of remarkable quality.”
“I’ve been a believer in Atlas Peak grown Cabernet for years,” explains Harvey. “Some of the greatest Cabernet I’ve ever produced was taken from this mountain, so having the chance to repeat that experience with folks dedicated to showcasing Atlas Peak Cabernet is a real treat” |
