Rodney Strong Vineyards Earns Sonoma Green Business Certificate

HEALDSBURG, Calif., Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- As one of Sonoma County's most progressive wineries, Rodney Strong Vineyards has earned a Sonoma Green Business Certificate of Compliance. The certificate recognizes Rodney Strong's commitment to comply with environmental regulations; conserve energy, materials, water, and other resources; and to implement practices to prevent pollution and waste.

The Sonoma Green Business Program is a voluntary partnership among business leaders, government agencies and nonprofit organizations whose goal is to publicly recognize and promote businesses that comply with local, state and federal environmental regulations and implement sound environmental practices. The Sonoma Green Business program was established in 1998.

Tom Klein, proprietor of Rodney Strong Vineyards explained, "I have always believed that environmentally sound practices are critical to our industry. Great strides can be made by putting into place simple measures, which result in an immediate and significant impact on quality of life in the region. I am proud to be a part of the Sonoma Green Business Program."

Earning the Sonoma Green Business Certificate, coupled with the recent installation of a solar electric system at the winery's 100,000 square foot barrelhouse, further illustrates Rodney Strong's progressive mindset and continuing commitment to the environment

The Klein family, a century-old California farming family, has owned Rodney Strong Vineyards for 14 years. In that time, they have made a significant investment to build what has become a Sonoma County landmark by producing more than 500,000 cases of wine from the 952 acres owned in four Sonoma County appellations (Russian River Valley, Chalk Hill, Alexander Valley, Sonoma Coast). Rodney Strong Vineyards produces Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel, Cabernet, Merlot, and Symmetry a red
Meritage wine.
