Fleet Week Set for San Francisco

TASTE News Service, September 27, 2017 – Fleet Week, San Francisco’s annual salute to the U.S. Navy, will be celebrated October 1st through the 9th this year.

An air show taking place over three days (October 6-8), headlined by the Navy’s precision flying team, the Blue Angels, is just one of the many activities planned.

Activities will take place at various parts of the city. Some events are free, while others will require a ticket. Ships from the U.S. and Canadian Navies and the U.S. Coast Guard will be in port and the public is invited to tour them and interact with naval personnel. A Veteran’s Art Exhibit will be hosted in the Gallery at The Cannery on Fisherman’s Wharf beginning on October 3rd and will continue through the 26th of the month. A veterans Services Resource Fair will be convened at the Marine’s Memorial Club and Hotel on Sutter Street on the afternoon of October 3rd. On October 7th AT&T K-9 Heroes: Bark at the Park will entertain at Duboce Park. On Monday, October 9th a high school band challenge will take place in Golden Gate Park. Preceding the high school musicians will be a performance by the U.S. Marine Corps band.
