Appearance: “Very black with a thin beige head. No lacing in the glass.”
Aroma: “Vanilla . . . and you get the Bourbon in it, for sure. There’s cocoa and a little bit of roastiness, followed by fruit notes. In my opinion you get cherry and then stone fruits like the apricots.”
Taste: “Chocolate and cocoa. Coffee. There’s a tartness from the pomegranate and the apricot. It has a thick, almost chewy mouthfeel. The alcohol is warming, but hot overpowering. As it warms up, the Bourbon shines through.
Food Affinity: “With any kind of steak it would really be good. BBQ. Pretty much any kind of chocolate dessert.”
