TASTE News Service, June 25, 2018 – Renowned vintners from the Napa Valley will be serving some of their best to deserving veterans through the Vintners for Veterans program, spearheaded by Duckhorn Vineyards along with the Yountville Chamber of Commerce.

Vintners for Veterans offers weekly wine service for residents of the Veterans Home in Yountville every Sunday during lunch service in the main dining room.

The program came from a desire to honor veterans and bring them a piece of Napa Valley, and organizers hope that the program will educate and inspire more people to become involved with the veterans’ community. Vintners for Veterans began on June 3, supported by Duckhorn Vineyards who provided the wine and volunteer staff to pour the wines. Each week, winery staff will have a unique opportunity to interact with the veteran population and learn more about the Veterans Home and its many programs and services.

Duckhorn Vineyards staff has stepped up to coordinate with local vintners to secure donations for the remaining Sundays.

“Vintners for Veterans is just one small opportunity for the wine industry to give back – we are lucky to have a California Veterans Home here in the heart of the Napa Valley,” said Alex Ryan, CEO & President of Duckhorn Wine Company. “These courageous men and women deserve our thanks and will enjoy wines from our great industry on an ongoing basis and hopefully meet some of the vintners and people behind the wines.”
