TASTE News Service, December 9, 2020 – While holiday gatherings will be smaller and closer to home this year, there are still plenty of ways to enjoy the festive season Sonoma County-style with Holidays Along the Farm Trails.

From Thanksgiving to New Year's Day, Sonoma County Farm Trails members are featuring feature special holiday offerings including farm-fresh food and drink for holiday meals, unique ag-centric gifts, and local wreaths and decor. There will also be safe, family-friendly holiday experiences, such as cutting your own Christmas tree.

Farm Trails members are being guided by new protocols set forth by the County of Sonoma and State of California to ensure that they're providing experiences and products that are just as safe as they are fun and festive.

An alternative to shopping the malls, supermarkets, and big box stores, a day spent on Sonoma County's back roads is a great way to make lasting family memories and enjoy crisp winter weather outdoors. Shopping fresher-than-fresh locally produced foods and gifts also supports our own community and helps to preserve agriculture in Sonoma County.

Visit the Farm Trails website at www.farmtrails.org for holiday recipes, outdoor dining, meals-to-go, holiday décor, and Christmas tree farms, and follow them on Facebook and Instagram for more safe, fun ways to celebrate.

ABOUT SONOMA COUNTY FARM TRAILS: With its mission to help ensure the continuing economic viability of Sonoma County agriculture by instilling an appreciation of agriculture as a vital part of the community and lifestyle, Farm Trails was established in 1973 by local Sonoma County farmers to create community among food producers and establish a stronger connection between farmers and the public. Farm Trails continues to serve as a local resource, producing Sonoma County's premier agricultural map and guide. The organization's primary annual fundraiser is the Gravenstein Apple Fair, celebrating the heirloom apple and Sonoma County's rural traditions. Signature events include seasonal farm tours.
