The competition will be fierce but after the last putt drops, the victorious team will earn the right to pop the corks from 32 bottles of locally-produced wine, including award-winning Calaveras County Zins, Barberas, Syrahs and other varietals donated by all fourteen Vintner Members of Greenhorn Creek Resort. Additional prizes include rounds of golf and lodging at The Caddy Shack, a five-bedroom facility located adjacent the ninth fairway and sleeps up to twelve people.
"The Wine Barrel Open is a fun-filled tournament with a twist," says Allan Ramorini, Assistant General Manager at Greenhorn Creek. "Thanks to our location in Calaveras County, the outdoor activities, wine and outstanding food are integral components to the lifestyle at Greenhorn Creek and this event combines the best of all three."
The event is open to the public and includes: golf; tee prizes, wine tasting reception hosted by Greenhorn Creek's Vintner Members, plus dinner prepared by CAMPS. Non-golf playing guests are welcome to attend the reception and dinner.
All proceeds from the Wine Barrel Open will benefit the First Tee of the San Joaquin Chapter.
